Megan O'Dowd
I am an Idaho native and grew up in Coeur d’Alene. As a former Realtor, with a surveyor-father, it was only natural that my law practice gravitated towards real estate. Whether assisting clients with land use development and entitlements, title evaluations or litigating a real estate issue, I find that I touch a real estate file at least once every day.
As luck would have it, I also fell into education law over a decade ago assisting public school districts (and other public agencies) with their legal needs. This work involves contract review, policy development, personnel issues, board governance and staff training. I find the integration of law and community needs to be incredibly rewarding.
Mediation and third-party neutral services often overlap this work and extend well beyond real estate and public agency clients. I have conducted personnel, Title IX and related third-party investigations and have recently completed 40-hours of mediation training. I genuinely believe that collaborative problem solving should be explored with every dispute, particularly before a Judge makes a decision that is completely outside of the parties’ control.
On the weekends you will find me on the sidelines of a soccer or basketball game or doing a renovation project at home. My husband Luke and I love to adventure with our kids to National Parks, and I am particularly fond of Arches.
